Litigation experience also includes complex trusts and estates disputes and Surrogate’s Court practice, including trials. Transactional background has included representation of clients in all aspects of business, medical, dental, legal, accounting, and other professional corporate, partnership, LLC, LLP, and other business entity contracts and commercial matters, including organizational and governance matters, mergers, acquisitions, private placements, public offerings, real estate syndications, employment agreements and deferred compensation arrangements, and adoption and administration of defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans.

Served as a neutral involving a broad range of subject matters, including Title VII, ADEA, EPA and other employment disputes, FLSA claims, §1983 civil rights actions, construction cases, environmental contamination claims, satellite transponder leases, securities brokerage cases, tax shelter investments, telecommunications cases, real property developments, joint ventures, franchise and fraud claims, hydroelectric power contract claims, hazardous substance cases, commercial and personal insurance coverage claims, employer withdrawal liability under ERISA, land reclamation issues from strip mining.

Appeared in state and federal courts in complex commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation, both as an advocate and neutral.

Substantial experience in mediating resolutions of federal and state court litigations and arbitrations involving business disputes, FLSA claims, Title VII, ADEA, EPA and other employment discrimination claims, shareholder and partnership lawsuits, environmental damage claims, commercial contract actions, licensing agreement disputes, estates and trusts proceedings, civil rights claims, insurance coverage issues, ERISA claims, and other subject matters. Has mediated more than 340 cases. Serves on numerous federal and state court mediation panels. Has served as Member of the ADR Department Advisory Council for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York; has served as Member of the Mediator Advisory Committee, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York; and former Chair of the Nassau County Arbitration and Mediation Panels Advisory Council.
Representative issues include disputes involving a broad range of commercial transactions and contracts, FLSA, Title VII, ADEA and other employment discrimination cases, environmental contamination claims, property damage cases arising in a business/commercial context, insurance claims, and Section 1983 civil rights claims.
Employs the facilitative style of mediation in most cases. Occasionally, and when appropriate, may move to a more evaluative style. The latter most frequently occurs when a mediator's proposal is agreed to by the parties.
Currently employs the use of Zoom for handling ADR most disputes.
