Forty years' experience in a complex commercial litigation practice including securities (i.e., companies and directors), insurance and corporate law, as well as public policy law issues. Tried and litigated corporate and securities law, class actions, contract disputes, high technology (including intellectual property, licensing, and royalty issues), oil & gas lease, working interests, operating agreements and royalties disputes, and telecommunications (issues such as rates, competition, and access).
Has extensive mediation experience in a wide variety of commercial cases, ranging from employment termination claims to complex commercial claims exceeding $250 million.
Shareholder/corporate dispute experience has included claims by a minority shareholder in a closely held corporation seeking fair and reasonable value for minority interest and removal as a director of the company.

Insurance coverage experience has involved claims by a corporate executive under a director and officer liability policy, which arose from litigation pending in state and federal court.

Partnership experience has involved claims disputing obligations allegedly breached under a limited partner agreement brought by a limited partner claiming damages and return of capital of approximately $500,000. Employment dispute experience has involved multiple mediations of claims brought by terminated employees. Six mediations were handled over a period of two days.

+Securities Claims against major publicly-traded optical communications components manufacturer and supplier.

Mediation of a dispute between a multi-national gold mining company and a railroad over rights of way and mining claims.
The purpose of a mediation is to crystallize the true issues in the case, assist the parties in a reasonable evaluation of their position, including strengths and weaknesses and the cost and risk of trial. A mediator's recommendation is often the key to finding common ground.
Able to conduct hearings via videoconference (e.g., Zoom). Uses internal staff to provide seamless videoconference administration, facilitate electronic communications, and address any other technological needs.
