Mediation is a process which allows the participants to reach a mutually agreed upon resolution of a dispute without outside interference reached as a result of the three C's: communication, collaboration and compromise. The approach in reaching the goal will vary depending on the nature of the dispute and the relationship of the participants. Likewise the role of the mediator may vary from facilitator to evaluator but always as a neutral intermediary.
