The purpose of mediation is to give people an opportunity to communicate in a safe, confidential environment with the hope that they can create their own solution. Mediation is an excellent tool to preserve relationships while crafting a mutually agreeable settlement between all parties, instead of a judge or jury imposing a verdict in court. Construction disputes belong in mediation and arbitration, not in the courtroom. In mediation, the parties are in charge of the outcome.
