Nine years of mediation experience and have conducted dozens of mediations. Mostly mediated in the areas of business-business disputes, business-consumer disputes, personal injury and family law. Have been a party at several mediations, observing the strengths and weaknesses of various mediators, before becoming a mediator.
Disputes between businesses where a breach of contract was alleged.
Disputes between credit card companies and customers where a customer had run up big balances and was unable or unwilling to pay resulting in the credit card company suing the customer.
Disputes between landlords and tenants where a landlord had withheld the security deposit alleging damages and where the tenant sued in small claims court to recover that security deposit.
Disputes within families involving finances, divorce, child custody, etc.
Disputes between customers and businesses where a customer alleged party was injured while in the premises of the business.
Disputes between customers and insurance companies where a customer alleged party was entitled to more compensation that what the insurance company offered.

I use the Evaluative Style of Mediation which is quite similar to Arbitration. Evaluative mediators assist the parties in reaching resolution by helping to “evaluate” the strengths and weakness of the cases and providing impartial insight and analysis as to the issues at hand. The evaluative mediator structures the mediation process, directly influencing the outcome of mediation by helping the involved parties and attorneys re-evaluate their legal positions (based on the facts that have been revealed during mediation), including cost-benefit of pursuing a litigated resolution versus settling in mediation.
I bring to bear the attention to detail as an engineer, understand the big picture as a manager and cut through the fluff as a lawyer to resolve seemingly intractable disputes between warring parties.
