I approach mediation, arbitration and fact finding as an opportunity to focus on mutual interests and separating fact from emotion to assist the parties in seeing the practical benefits of participating in the resolution of their dispute. I adapt my style to the needs of the parties encouraging communication and an understanding of the parties’ respective positions. I utilize caucuses to gather information and allow parties to verbalize frustrations in a non-confrontational environment. This also provides the opportunity to give direct feedback and engage in problem solving moving the parties to a resolution.
In providing an impartial evaluative approach to assessing issues, costs, and risks, I work towards the goal of bringing the parties to a mutually acceptable resolution.
